Our 655th Dad in the Limelight is Captain with Jetblue and inventor, Troy Stark. I want to thank Troy Stark for being a part of this series. It has been great getting connected with him and now sharing Troy Stark with all of you.
1) Tell me about yourself, (as well as how you are in the limelight for my readers knowledge)I am a Captain with Jetblue airways. I am an inventor. My latest invention is glooeys balloons. You can also learn more on the Glooeys Balloons facebook site!
2) Tell me about your family
For the past 6 years I have been a single father. Fortunately, I have an awesome 14 year old daughter.
3) What has been the largest challenge you have had in being a father?
It’s hard to imagine one. There are always small challenges,but I can’t think of a large one.
4) What advice would you give to other fathers?
Communication X 10. Always keep the line of communication open. If they’re not talking to you they’re talking to someone else.
5) How have you come to balance parenthood and outside life?
I have kept my daughter as my #1 priority. In doing so, my life isn’t complicated.
6) What have you learned from the fathers that you have interacted with?
Some are good. Some are bad. Some live vicariously through their child.
7) What else would you share regarding your experiences as a father thus far?
Stay involved with your child’s life. Guide them and encourage them. Be realistic, not every child gets a trophy. Let them explore different interests. When the find something they enjoy and are good at support them.

have had thus far as a parent?Fortunately for me, that list is of a mammoth scale. I see one of my important roles as a father is to be a memory maker. Waking my daughter up on the boat with 7 manatees want fresh water and lettuce. Swimming with dolphins. Traveling the world. Being at her lacrosse games throughout the years. Watching her drop in on the half pipe skateboarding for the first time. My daughter coming home late from a movie with her girlfriends and coming in my room and kissing me goodnight when she thought I was asleep. There are just too many to list.
