Our 848th Dad in the Limelight is Down Under Dad, Nick Holland. I want to thank Nick Holland for being a part of this series. It has been great getting connected with him and now sharing Nick Holland with all of you.
1) Tell me about yourself, (as well as how you are in the limelight for my readers knowledge)
I’m a 30 year old Dad living, working, and raising a family in Newcastle, Australia. Between working a full time job to support my family and spending time being a Dad, I run a Blog all about being a Dad – Down Under Dad
Here you will find learnings, experiences, day to day happenings, and of course the odd dad joke (what would dad blog be without dad jokes)

2) Tell me about your family
My wife and I have been married for close to 5 years now. Our little guy has recently turned 2 and we are expecting our second child in October.
3) What has been the largest challenge you have had in being a father?
I think the complete change in lifestyle. Before becoming a father each day was whatever you wanted it to be. A quiet day at home? fine, a big day out? no worries. As a Father your days are now governed by your children.
4) What advice would you give to other fathers?
Just Relax and Enjoy it. You are going to make mistakes, you are going to have tough days, but nobody is perfect.
5) How have you come to balance parenthood and outside life?
I think you need to have time out every so often. Take the time with your partner to have some time away from your kids. Schedule a date night at least once a month, no kids.
6) What have you learned from the fathers that you have interacted with?
While every family is different, generally speaking everyone goes through the same life of being a parent. The celebrations, the struggles. you can guarantee that other dads have been through or will go through the same.
7) What else would you share regarding your experiences as a father thus far?
While there are some tough days, the good ones always outweigh the tough ones, always. I love being a Dad. I’m all for being honest as a dad and that means sharing the positives and the negatives.
8) What have been the most memorable experiences that you have had thus far as a parent?
Its hard to pick one, but I would have to say the birth of my first child. Looking back while my wife was pregnant it never really sunk in that I was becoming a parent. When it came to ‘go time’, it all happened quickly and next thing I know I’m holding this little guy in my arms.
